Summary

Amends the:

Social Security Act 1991
to: increase the newly arrived resident’s waiting period (NARWP) from 104 weeks to 156 weeks for certain social security payments and concession cards; introduce a NARWP of 156 weeks for bereavement allowance, widow allowance, parenting payment and carer allowance; and make a technical amendment;
Farm Household Support Act 2014
to increase the NARWP from 104 weeks to 156 weeks;
A New Tax System (Family Assistance) Act 1999
and
Social Security Act 1991
to introduce a NARWP of 156 weeks for family tax benefit; and
Paid Parental Leave Act 2010
to introduce a NARWP of 156 weeks for parental leave pay and dad and partner pay.
